The Power of the Dog

Hodder and Stoughton, London; nd, ca1910. Illustrated with 20 tipped-in colored plates by Maud Earl. Described by A. Croxton Smith. Three-quarter gilt-titled vellum with gray cloth boards. Unpag. 4to. Good.

An artful look at dogs, rendered by Earl with wonderfully colorful tipped-in plates. Vellum folio binding with gilt rules and titling, and a gold signature on the cloth front board. Externally worn, with toning to the vellum and foxed spots; the cloth is peeling up slightly, with rubbing. Somewhat shaken, with offsets on the endpapers, but else internally unmarked.
