Very scarce early printing of the 1873 folio travelogue, filled with Gustave Dore’s marvelous engravings. Brown cloth with a gilt owl, tree design and embellished lettering, with all edges gilt. Shelfback with frayed crown and tail; gouge to the lower front and upper groove. Rubbed corners and wear to the extremities. Starting between the endpapers, and a lightly shaken binding. Contemporary inscription appears on the front free endpaper, but else a very fine and unmarked interior.
