Fine olive-green levant morocco bindings bound, and signed, on the obverse of the front free endpapers by Riviere & Son. Beautifully decorated and lettered in gold; top edges gilt. Profuse photographs of Selborne throughout, and line drawings of nature scenes. Scant edge wear to the marbled paper, but the exteriors are else quite fine. Scuffs to volume 1’s front free endpaper, but otherwise sharp and tight.
The Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne, or just The Natural History of Selborne is a book by English naturalist and ornithologistGilbert White. It was first published in 1789 by his brother Benjamin. It has been continuously in print since then, with nearly 300 editions up to 2007.
