Beautiful complete set of Hakluyt’s Voyages. Each volume with between 2 to 4 loose fold-out maps held in a pasted-on sleeve in the back cover, as well as many b/w plates. Quite scarce with all 12 volumes. Some rubbing to the extremities; foxing to the page edges. Maps and text blocks in excellent condition.


Richard Hakluyt (/ˈhæklʊt/, /ˈhæklət/, or /ˈhækəlwɪt/;[1] 1553 – 23 November 1616) was an English writer. He is known for promoting the English colonisation of North America through his works, notably Divers Voyages Touching the Discoverie of America (1582) and The Principal Navigations, Voiages, Traffiques and Discoueries of the English Nation (1589–1600).
